Membership to Ten Bō Rin Association
Created on 27th Feb 2004, the objective of the Ten Bō Rin Association is to allow "setting in motion the Wheel of the Dharma" in our lives. It's an ambitious goal but it is profoundly human, since it is from the practise of zazen that we develop a spirit of non-profit, free from selfishness, which strengthens our faith and allows us to actively engage in benevolent relationships which aid and facilitate an openess with others.
The Ten Bō Rin Association organises and proposes:
- sesshins or longer sessions in the Soto Zen Tradition
- Fuse Weeks at la Gendronnière or in dojos,
- inter-religious contact
- sessions of activities related to practice (correct food preparation/choice, voice and singing, calligraphy, etc. ...)
Guy Mokuho Mercier has practised the Zen way since 1973. A close disciple of Master Deshimaru, he received monk ordination in 1976, he was the Tenzo (head cook) for a number of years at La Gendronnière temple, and was responsible for the temple from 1991 through 1997. Through the Ten Bō Rin association, Guy Mokuho Mercier maintains contact with practitioners who wish to invest not only in Zen practice and meditation, but are also eager to develop ways to help those who suffer and to support the Ten Bō Rin project of creating a place for older practitioners to live and practise.
